Family Background:

Shri Anand Kumar Mishra is belongs to a Traditional musician family of Banaras since seventh generations. In his family have been very popular musician, sarangi player Late Pt. Bachau Maharaj, his son Late Pt. Banshi Maharaj & Pt. Navaratan Maharaj was a great sarangi player and vocalist too.
His grand father Late Pt. Dauji Mishra was a great vocalist of Banaras Gharana.
Shri Anand Kumar was empressed toward SITAR after listening Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar Ji “Rimpa Music” circle in Varanasi with his father Pt. Ishwar Lal Mishra was accompanied on Tabla with Pandit Ji 1985.

Training:
He was started to learn Sitar under guidance Late Pt. Gopal Shankar Mishra Ex. Reader is Sitar in Faculty of performing Arts B.H.U Mr. Gopal Shankar Mishra was a famous vichitra veena player too. At the very early age Mr. Gopal Shankar Mishra was died, after that he is continuing lesson Sitar under guidance of Dr. Smt. Pushpa Basu Ex. professor in Sitar from the faculty of performing Arts B.H.U.

Performance:
He is promising artist in Sitar of Banaras. He has been performed in Varanasi, South point Vidyashram, Nagwa Durga Temple, Ganesha Temple, Sanskar Bharati, Abhisinchan Mahotsav, Sankalp Foundation. He was selected first price winner in music competition from Sangit Natak academy Lucknow, Pratibha Utsav (Patna & Bihar), Sharda Sangit Sammelan Bhagalpur Bihar, performing arts B.H.U, Yuva Sangit Mahotsav Agra Organized by Sangit Natak Academy Lucknow, Yuva Vani Karyakram A.I.R. Varanasi, Reneesonce music Gallary (Gaya Bihar). He has been awarded National scholarship from Government of India-Delhi. He has been also performed with Parthodas, Miss. Anuradha Pal and Anindo chaterjee and with his brother Dhanjay Mishra and with his father Pt. Ishwar Lal Mishra.
